You can find "Shima Nature School" in Shigeyama park in Ago Bay. It’s a fun place where you can experience a variety of outdoor and nature programs.
You can enter the "water ball" and float on the surface of the water of Ago Bay!
After I entered the plastic "Water Ball” I could play on the surface of the water for 15 minutes. It felt so strange to float and play on the water without having to wear a swimming costume.
I put on my lifejacket.
The ball was blown up using an electric pump.
The ball can hold two passengers, and if light enough even a whole family.
I heard even your dog can join you! I entered the ball on my hands and knees and started rolling to the pier.
With a big splash I landed on the water!
Afterwards, a motorboat pulled the ball along with a rope. I started to make my tour over the water of Ago Bay.
The inside of the ball was hotter than I thought. In the summer the ball really heats up, so you can stay only for a short time.
It was also so hard to stand up inside the ball. I kept losing my balance and kept rolling around inside.
In winter the water is super clear and I could see the bottom of the bay! I even found some starfish!
Me standing in the middle of Ago Bay! Yay!!

In Tomoyama park there are two viewing platforms where you can look down over the beautiful coast line of Ago Bay.
・Kirikaki Observation Deck
An observatory on the east side of the Ago Bay, visitors come here to amaze at the magnificent sunset scenery. I took the picture of sunset at this deck!
・Tomoyama Observation Deck
Since you see a wider spread of the sea from this observation deck, I recommend the view to anyone who wants to see shimmering gold sea in the light of the setting sun.
The observation deck was busy with cameramen who came to take pictures of the beautiful view.
Unique to Mie prefecture you can also see the green seaweed fishing nets and the pearl culturing farms.
The intricate coastal inlet of Ago Bay reflected in the evening light is so magical! The best time to take a picture is February-March and September-October. This picture was taken in December, so I’m sure you can see even better!
